Most allied healthcare specialties require two years of experience before traveling. Respiratory Therapists are able to travel as new grads, depending on the facility. While every assignment is different, new graduates usually cannot start traveling right away. Hospitals expect travelers to be highly independent since orientation is often very short. Many new grads start with a permanent role for 1–2 years, then transition into travel to build confidence and clinical skills.
