What is Travel Allied Healthcare?

When healthcare facilities experience a staffing shortage or a rapid increase in population, they rely on ahealthcare travelers to fill the gaps until permanent staff can be hired.

Travel contracts can range anywhere from 13 weeks to 9 months (on average) depending on the setting and location. Travel contracts most commonly occur in the following settings:

  • Hospitals
  • Outpatient clinics
  • Imaging & Radiology facilities
  • Surgical facilities
  • Laboratories

Employers in any setting may offer contracts for longer or shorter periods of time, it relies entirely upon the needs and preferences of the individual employers. The requirements to start work as a traveler are no different than the requirements for a staff position - you just might have to pack a bag!
